The notorious Ashley gang led by The King of the Everglades, John Ashley fanned the flames of Florida’s rebellious spirit becoming a folk hero of poor Floridians. The swamp bandit John Ashley and his gang robbed 40 banks and hijacked shipments of illegal whiskey and rum. Between 1915 and 1923 rum running and out of state whiskey ceased in Florida because of the Ashely gangs pressure against non Florida booze. Our 100% Corn Whiskey is Distilled and Bottled in Indian River County where John Ashley was shot and killed by law enforcement in 1924.
